Introduction:
Phentolamine mesylate is a short-acting nonselective alpha (alpha 1, alpha 2) receptor blockers, circulating in the bloodstream can adersely affect the effect of epinephrine and norepinephrine, lower the blood vessels and peripheral vascular resistance, antagonistic effect of catecholamine, used in the treatment of pheochromocytoma, but the impact on the normal or the blood pressure of patients with essential hypertension (eh), can decrease peripheral vascular resistance, reduce cardiac afterload, left ventricular end-diastolic pressure and pulmonary artery pressure drop, heart beat out the quantity increase, can be used in the treatment of heart failure.
Real Shot

Application & Function:

(1) For the phentolamine test, 5mg can be injected intravenously, or 1mg can be injected first. If the reaction is negative, 5mg can be given again, so that the false positive result can be reduced, and the risk of a sharp drop in blood pressure can also be reduced.

(2) To prevent skin necrosis, add 10mg of this product to every 1000mL noradrenaline solution for intravenous drip as a preventive.Norepinephrine has been extravasated, 5-10mg of this product plus 10ml sodium chloride injection for local infiltration, this method is effective within 12 hours after extravasation.

(3) For pheochromocytoma surgery, if the blood pressure is elevated during the operation, intravenous injection of 2-5mg or infusion of 0.5-1mg per minute can be used to prevent hypertensive crisis during the tumor surgery.

(4) To reduce the heart load in heart failure, intravenous infusion 0.17-0.4mg per minute.
