Altrenogest is a progestin, It is widely used in veterinary medicine to suppress or synchronize estrus in horses and pigs. It is available for veterinary use in both Europe (as Regumate) and the United States (as Matrix).

Altrenogest (INN, USAN, BAN),also known asallyltrenbolone or allyltrienolone, as well as 17α -allyl-19-nor- δ 9,11-testosterone or 17 α -allylestra-4,9,11-trien-17 β -ol-3-one, is a steroidal progestin of the 19-nortestosterone and allyltestosterone groups related to allylestrenol,norgestrienone, and trenbolone that is widely used in veterinary medicine to suppress or synchronize estrus in horses andpigs.
