Introduction:
Piperine may enhance bioavailability of curcumin by 2000% in humans. Piperine may enhance the pharmacokinetic parameters of resveratrol via inhibiting glucuronidation, thereby slowing its metabolism.Piperine has shown 'anti-depression like activity', and cognitive enhancing effects. Piperine has shown anti-inflammatory and anti-arthritic effects in human interleukin-1beta-stimulated fibroblast-like synoviocytes. Piperine also possesses anti-angiogenic activities

Piperine is main active component of pepper. It is a type of alkaloid. It is found widely in nature, especially in pepper plants.

Piperine accounts for 4%-9% of pepper fruit. Hongkang Piperine comes from dried fruits of black pepper. Acts as a natural cosmetic ingredient.It is extremely sensitive to light. It is almost insoluble in water, and slightly soluble in ether; it is soluble in benzene or acetic acid, and easily soluble in chloroform, ethanol.

In recent years, with the research in cosmetics field, it has been found that Piperine can promote skin penetration.
